The Commission on Elections has already logged over 1.4 million poll registrants on the seventh day of voter registration for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections.

As of August 7, a total of 1,452,060 individuals have registered for the BSK elections since voter registration began on August 1.

The registration period will continue for 10 days, until August 10.

Record-breaking in Philippine election history

In the first five days of voter registration, COMELEC Chairman George Garcia said in an interview that 1.1 million poll registrants were recorded.

“In just five days, we have registered about 1.1 million people across the Philippines, marking the first time this has happened in the history of our elections,” Garcia said.

Regions with the most number of voter registrants

Based on COMELEC’s data, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) recorded the highest number of voter registrants, with a total of 184,683 from August 1 to 7, 2025.

It was followed by Region III (Central Luzon) with 154,551 poll registrants and Metro Manila with 111,979.

Given these numbers, COMELEC aims to reach a target of 1.5 million registrants by August 10 or by the end of the registration period.
