MANILA — Thirty-eight percent of adult Filipinos believe their quality of life will improve over the next 12 months, according to the latest survey by Social Weather Stations (SWS).
The nationwide survey, conducted from March 24 to 31, found that 32% of respondents said their situation would stay the same, while 16% said their quality of life would worsen. About 14% did not provide an answer.
Based on the results, the net personal optimism score stood at +23, classified by SWS as “high,” marking a 13-point drop from the “very high” +36 recorded in November 2025.
SWS also noted that net personal optimism declined from an “excellent” +40 to a “high” +22.
Across regions, the polling firm said optimism in Metro Manila fell from “very high” +36 to “high” +28, while Mindanao saw a decline from “very high” +35 to “high” +20.
In the Visayas, net personal optimism remained “high,” although it slightly decreased from +29 to +27.
The survey interviewed 1,500 adults through face-to-face interviews: 300 each in Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao, and 600 in Balance Luzon, or areas outside Metro Manila.
Sampling error margins were ±3% for national estimates, ±6% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao, and ±4% for Balance Luzon.
