After a week of limited operations, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced that commercial flights to General Santos International Airport resumed on Monday, June 15, 2026.
The resumption comes after the airport sustained minor damage during the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani province on June 8.
CAAP said the return of commercial flights follows a directive from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to fast-track repair works to ensure the safety of passengers and personnel.
“The CAAP has also conducted coordination meetings with airline operators, airport stakeholders, and government agencies to ensure the continued safe and efficient operation of General Santos Airport,” the agency said in a statement.
Passengers were advised to coordinate directly with their respective airlines regarding flight schedules and travel arrangements.
Following the announcement, Philippine Airlines said the following flights resumed effective Monday, June 15:
PR 453/454 Manila–General Santos–Manila
PR 2455/2456 Manila–General Santos–Manila
PR 2357/2358 Cebu–General Santos–Cebu
