Several areas may experience dangerous heat index levels on Monday, May 11, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
Based on PAGASA’s heat index forecast, six areas may record a heat index of 44 degrees Celsius:
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan
- Aparri, Cagayan
- Casiguran, Aurora
- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
- Cuyo, Palawan
- Dumangas, Iloilo
Meanwhile, the following areas may experience a heat index of 43 degrees Celsius:
- Laoag City, Ilocos Norte
- MMSU, Batac, Ilocos Norte
- Bacnotan, La Union
- Tuguegarao City, Cagayan
- ISU Echague, Isabela
- Baler, Aurora
- Iba, Zambales
- Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
- Aborlan, Palawan
- Daet, Camarines Norte
- Masbate City, Masbate
- Roxas City, Capiz
- Borongan, Eastern Samar
Metro Manila may also experience a dangerous heat index level on Monday, with temperatures expected to reach 42 degrees Celsius.
Other areas forecast to record the same heat index include:
- Sinait, Ilocos Sur
- CLSU Muñoz, Nueva Ecija
- San Ildefonso, Bulacan
- Sangley Point, Cavite City, Cavite
- Infanta, Quezon
- Alabat, Quezon
- CBSUA-Pili, Camarines Sur
- Iloilo City, Iloilo
PAGASA advised the public to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities as much as possible to avoid heat-related illnesses.
