Globe Telecom is set to expand its network infrastructure in the capital, with new cell towers planned in key areas including Tondo, the University Belt, North Harbor, and Sampaloc, the Manila City Hall announced Friday, August 15.
Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso met with Globe executives in a roundtable discussion to tackle the company’s plans to enhance connectivity for Manila’s residents, workers, and students.
The meeting was attended by Globe President and CEO Carl Raymond R. Cruz, Chief Transformation and Operations Officer and Chief Customer Experience Officer Rebecca V. Eclipse, and Chief Commercial Officer Darius Jose R. Delgado.
The Mayor said Globe Telecom’s expansion is expected to boost digital infrastructure in the city, a key driver for both business competitiveness and access to online services for residents.
“‘Roundtable discussion’ po tayo ngayon sa pamunuan ng Globe Telecom upang pag-usapan ang higit na pagpapaunlad ng connectivity ng mga residente, naghahanapbuhay, at mga mag-aaral sa Lungsod ng Maynila,” Domagoso said in a press statement.
He emphasized that the city government remains open to business expansion projects, pledging that investors would not face abuse or extortion from city officials or employees.
Domagoso stressed that every business venture—whether a start-up or an expansion—brings new employment opportunities for Manileños.
“Ang ating prinsipyo: bawat negosyo, maliit man o malaki, bago man o expansion, tiyak na maglilikha ng trabaho para sa ating mga taga-lungsod,” he added.
