Believe it or not, there are more Gen Z billionaires today than ever before, according to Forbes.
Based on the Forbes World’s Billionaires list, 35 people reached billionaire status before age 30. They account for just 1% of the world’s 3,428 billionaires — but that share is up by 0.4 percentage point from 2025.
Among the 35 young billionaires is Amelie Voigt Trejes, the world’s youngest billionaire. The 20-year-old is the granddaughter of Werner Ricardo Voigt (†), who co-founded Brazilian industrial machinery giant WEG in 1961.
Amelie, 20, is younger than her twin brothers Pedro and Felipe and seven years younger than Johannes von Baumbach, a German pharmaceutical heir who is now the world’s second-youngest billionaire.
Forbes said eight of the 35 billionaires under 30 are from the United States, 13 are from Europe and six are from Asia.
“All of the Americans are self-made, while nearly all of the Europeans — except Fabian Hedin and Arvid Lunnemark — inherited their fortunes,” Forbes said.
Hedin, 26, co-founded the AI coding startup Lovable, while Lunnemark, also 26, co-founded Cursor, the maker of a popular code-editing tool. Lunnemark left the company in October to start a new venture focused on developing systems for safer AI.
Forbes said the 35 billionaires under age 30 have a combined net worth of $92.4 billion, down from $152.3 billion last year.
