Vice President Sara Duterte emerged as the top choice among netizens who participated in The Situation Report’s social media poll for potential 2028 presidential candidates.
Twenty-four hours after the survey’s launch, Duterte maintained a commanding lead in the digital poll conducted on The Situation Report’s Facebook page as of 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4.
Out of the total engagement recorded, Duterte garnered 13,050 votes, representing approximately 97.6% of the participants.
The Vice President recently stated that she is still considering a presidential bid despite an ongoing impeachment complaint filed against her in the House of Representatives.
The poll focused on Duterte, Senator Risa Hontiveros, and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla—the three government officials who have most clearly signaled their intent or readiness to contest the 2028 presidency.
Senator Risa Hontiveros placed second in the survey with only 290 votes, or roughly 2.2% of the total engagement.
Hontiveros has voiced her willingness to run for the highest office in the country, though she emphasized that her candidacy would depend on being selected as the standard-bearer for a united opposition.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla received only 25 votes, accounting for approximately 0.2% of the netizens who participated.
Remulla previously indicated in an ANC interview that he is studying a possible run for the presidency, specifically if the contest develops into a “one-on-one fight” or a “two-way battle,” and if his wife approves of the decision.
The data reflects the decisions of netizens who chose to engage with the poll since it was first posted at 11:52 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3.
While the results offer a glimpse into the preferences of the blog’s active followers, this is not a scientific poll but rather a social media-based engagement tool intended to capture the immediate pulse of the digital community.
