President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the release of ₱200,000 to every barangay in the country under the program “Bawat Barangay, Makikinabang,” with the Office of the President targeting full distribution to all 42,000 barangays nationwide by June 30.

Undersecretary Georgina Hernandez Yang of the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) announced the directive of the President during an interview on DZRH News program Special on Saturday on May 9.

The funds come from the Social Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) under the Office of the President and will cover all 42,000 barangays across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Half of the allocation, or ₱100,000, will go toward college scholarships for five graduating fourth-year students per barangay, each receiving ₱20,000 in educational assistance.

The remaining ₱100,000 will be used by barangays to purchase equipment and supplies needed to serve their constituents.

Yang said the program was designed to deliver aid faster to communities, particularly those affected by the economic impact of the Middle East crisis.

“Ginawa po natin ‘yung programang ito sa utos din ng Pangulo na siguraduhin po na sa mas mabilis na pamamaraan maparating ‘yung tulong sa mga tao,” she said.

Coordination is being handled through the Liga ng mga Barangay, with Executive Secretary Ralph Recto leading outreach to chapter presidents nationwide.

Barangays must submit a notarized Deed of Donation, a request letter, a Sangguniang Resolution, and a list of scholars before checks are released.

Yang said the June 30 deadline is a firm marching order from the President, adding that no barangay will be left out of the program.
