Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno on Friday, September 5 addressed the viral post showing two overlapping street sign poles and a utility post at the corner of Pedro Gil Street and Felix Street.
“Mali naman ‘yan. Ang tawag ko dyan ay paggasta ng resources ng gobyerno na walang kapararakan. Walang malasakit,” Moreno said.
“Nababasa mo ba ‘yung green? Maliwanag? Bakit kailangan pa tayuan nang bago? Ang malungkot niyan, tinayuan nang bago, pero hindi inalis ‘yung luma. Oh diba, inutil?” he said.
The reflectorized street name signage project, covering Districts I to VI with a ₱39.9 million budget, was approved under former Mayor Honey Lacuna.
The Mayor said he has already ordered the Department of Engineering and Public Works to remove one of the sign poles.
