Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Monday, May 4, welcomed the donation of 20 motorcycle units for the Manila Police District (MPD) from Chiang Kai Shek College.

The turnover was held during the weekly flag-raising ceremony at Manila City Hall, with MPD District Director PBGen. Arnold Santiago present to receive the vehicles on behalf of the police district.

Leading the Chiang Kai Shek College delegation were Honorary Chairman of the Board of Trustees Mr. Johnson Tan, Treasurer Mr. Eduard Tio, Auditor Ms. Margarita Go, College President Dr. Judelio Yap, Vice President Dr. Rolance Chua, and Director for Institutional Advancement and Development Ms. Margaret Salvador.

Domagoso announced that the latest batch brings the running total of donated motorcycles to around 60 units, describing the contributions as part of a sustained private-sector effort to augment the MPD’s mobility and response capability.

The Mayor said the vehicles would be put to immediate operational use under General Santiago’s leadership.

“Ilalaan natin ‘tong mga gamit na ito upang mas epektibong matugunan, and if there is a possibility and chances to prevent. And if we fail in preventing, we go after them no matter what,” Domagoso said.

He assured donors that the motorcycles would be used strictly for public safety purposes, and thanked Chiang Kai Shek College for its continued trust in the Manila Police District.

“Pumanatag kayo, through the leadership of General Santiago, we will utilize it fully for public purpose. Maraming-maraming salamat sa pagtitiwala ninyo sa Manila Police District,” Domagoso said.
