Grab Philippines has apologized to actress Xyriel Manabat after one of its drivers made inappropriate remarks about her.

The transport network vehicle service (TNVS) said the driver has been placed under preventive suspension and that it is willing to cooperate with government agencies.

This came after the actress said she would take action against the driver.

“We are already in direct contact with Ms. Manabat, have offered our full support, and ensured her concerns were heard. We are also prepared to cooperate fully with relevant authorities,” the company said.

On Wednesday, April 8, a Facebook user identified as “Boss Toyo Mansi” uploaded a photo of himself with Manabat, who had reportedly booked a ride in his vehicle.

The caption read, “Ang laki ng bata na ’yan,” and was followed by indecent remarks, including “jak*l.”

The now-viral post reached Manabat, who said she would not let the incident pass and would take appropriate action.

She added that such comments should not be reduced to mere entertainment.

Grab Philippines also emphasized that “such behavior constitutes a grave violation and is a bannable offense under our Driver Guidelines.”

The company said it is reviewing its driver behavior training and will introduce safeguards to address gaps exposed by the incident.

Grab also reminded passengers that if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable during a ride, they can use the app’s 24/7 Safety Center to seek assistance.
