Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Friday, October 17, congratulated the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) for emerging as the top-performing school in the 2025 Physician Licensure Examination, calling it a “continuing testament to PLM’s uncompromising pursuit of excellence and service to the nation.”

PLM, founded in 1965 and funded by the City of Manila, recorded the highest overall passing rate in the board exams, according to results released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

The PRC ranked the PLM as No. 1 in the October 2025 Physician Licensure Examination, after 104 of its 105 examinees passed, earning the university an outstanding 99.05% passing rate.

“Congratulations to the entire PLM community for this outstanding achievement,” Domagoso said.

“You have once again proven that PLM is not only a source of pride for Manila, but also a pillar of hope for the Filipino people. Our doctors, trained in the heart of the capital, continue to raise the bar of public service and professional excellence,” he said.

Domagoso reaffirmed the city government’s continued commitment to bolstering its support for PLM.

Within his first 100 days in office, the Mayor also reinforced the city’s backing for PLM by funding ₱19.85 million in student allowances and releasing ₱58.75 million in subsidies to the city-funded university.

The Mayor also announced plans to convert the old Ospital ng Maynila building into the new PLM Academic Building for Health Sciences within two years—a key initiative to expand the university’s capacity to train future medical professionals.

The facility will be retrofitted and redesigned to accommodate classrooms, laboratories, and advanced medical equipment, ensuring a modern learning environment for future health professionals.

“We will continue producing more doctors, we will continue helping in nation-building,” he said.
