The Marcos administration is rolling out ₱200,000 in financial assistance to each of the country’s 42,000 barangays under the “Bawat Barangay, Makikinabang” program, funded through the Social Civic Projects Fund of the Office of the President.

Undersecretary Georgina Hernandez Yang of the Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) laid out the program’s details and requirements during an interview on DZRH News program Special on Saturday on May 9.

Yang said the program was designed to deliver aid faster to communities hit by the economic impact of the Middle East crisis, particularly families at risk of pulling their children out of college.

Half of the ₱200,000 allocation—or ₱100,000—will fund college scholarships for five graduating fourth-year students per barangay, each receiving ₱20,000 in educational assistance, while the remaining ₱100,000 will go toward barangay equipment and supplies.

“Wala pong maiiwan, lahat po makakatanggap ng tulong mula sa ating Pangulo,” Yang said.

However, checks will not be released until barangays complete a strict set of documentary requirements, including a notarized Deed of Donation, a request letter specifying how the funds will be used, a Sangguniang Resolution, a list of scholars, and the barangay captain’s identification card.

Yang said coordination is being handled through the Liga ng mga Barangay, with Executive Secretary Ralph Recto directly engaging chapter presidents nationwide to ensure compliance.

She added that the staggered release of funds is a direct result of incomplete documentary submissions from some barangays.

The June 30 deadline is a firm marching order from Recto, Yang said, and her office is working closely with local government units to ensure no barangay is left behind.

Barangay officials are urged to coordinate immediately with their respective Liga ng mga Barangay chapters to complete their requirements and secure their allocation before the deadline.
