Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso on Friday, February 13 highlighted a 13.08% decline in overall crime incidents in the fourth quarter of 2025, alongside improved crime solution efficiency and continued financial support for the Manila Police District (MPD).
Data presented during the MPD’s 125th Founding Anniversary showed that cases dropped from 2,110 in the third quarter to 1,834 in the fourth quarter — a decrease of 276 incidents.
Domagoso said the double-digit decline reflected intensified enforcement and stronger operational coordination under the district’s current leadership.
He also reported that crime solution efficiency rose by 9.2% during the administration’s first 100 days, indicating a higher rate of perpetrators being identified and apprehended compared to previous months.
Calling police service a rare opportunity, the Mayor urged officers to value the mandate entrusted to them and later led a moment of silence for fallen personnel, thanking the MPD for safeguarding Manila’s communities and institutions.
“Many are called, but few are chosen,” the Mayor said. “On behalf of the people of Manila, I would like to thank MPD chief General Arnold Abad, the officers of their respective precincts and PCPs, and those who are patrolling in these streets.”
At the same time, Domagoso issued a firm warning to would-be offenders, declaring that the city government will pursue criminal elements through lawful means.
“’Pag ginawa mo ang krimen sa Maynila, may kalalagyan ka. We will go after you. We will go spend every single cent, whatever is available in our legal resources to apprehend you to pay the price of your crime.”
“Ngayon, bukas, sa isang linggo, sa isang buwan, kahit ilang taon pa ’yan, basta ginawa mo sa Maynila, mahuhuli ka dito sa amin,” he said.
The Mayor also emphasized that enforcement would remain within the justice system: “Not under our hands, but before the office of the Judge and the Prosecutor.”
He also noted that ₱26.03 million in MPD allowances covering the fourth quarter of 2025 had been released, assuring the city government’s continuing operational support for law enforcement personnel.
After the anniversary program, the Mayor proceeded to Chiang Kai Shek College where he formally received 20 motorcycles donated for the Manila Police District.
The donation, which he had also announced earlier in his speech, is intended to enhance patrol mobility and strengthen police visibility across the city.
Domagoso thanked Chiang Kai Shek College and all other partners in the private sector for working hand in hand with the city government and the MPD to help ensure peace and order in the nation’s capital.
